Our Commitment to the Environment
Throughout our history, our environmental protection has been central to our business practices. Sun Polishing and Plating is an industry leader in responsible operations, with a commitment that goes well beyond the bare minimum, for over 50 years!
We first installed an in-process electro-winning technique to recover lost metals from our production line in 1985 - the first to be employed in Canada - and were so impressed and pleased with the result that we expanded our recovery capacity by purchasing two additional units shortly thereafter.
Sun Polishing & Plating is the recipient of an award and recognition from the Ontario Ministry of the Environment for our voluntary efforts and achievements in conservation related to our processes through its Pollution Prevent Pledge Program (P4).
Sun Polishing & Plating is a participant in the Metal Finishing Industry Pollution Prevention Project, an initiative dedicated to protecting the environment with representation from Environment Canada, the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, the Canadian Association of Metal Finishers and over 30 signatory companies.
Sun Polishing is a member of the Canadian Association of Metal Finishers industry association.
